WHAT IS BIG BROTHER?

Big Brother is an interactive gameshow where the contestants are locked into a house for a potential 64 days, isolated from all outside events. The prize money for the victor is $250,000 with no runner-up prize awarded. There can be only one winner.

WHAT DOES THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE LOOK LIKE?

Below is a blueprint of the Big Brother house.

WHAT ARE THE LIVING CONDITIONS IN THE HOUSE LIKE?

Big Brother will provide basic provisions for the housemates each week. Anything else will have to be purchased from a weekly shopping budget that begins at $70 for the full house. This is the equivelant of $1 per housemate per day. Big Brother will provide 1 hour of hot water in the shower and the bathroom per day between 9 and 10am. Big Brother will provide continual hot water in the kitchen area. Basic amenities such as a cooker, fridge/freezer and a mangle to dry the housemates laundry, which will have to be washed by hand. Big Brother will only permit basic luxuries within the house. Televisions, cell-phones, radios and pens and pencils are not permitted by Big Brother. This prevents the housemates from having contact with the outside world or writing hidden messages to the other housemates.

WHAT ARE THE BASIC FOOD PROVISIONS?

Big Brother will provide the housemates with milk, pasta, rice and flour. Plus Big Brother will provide them with the ingredients to make bread as this will not be provided.

WHAT ARE THE HOUSEMATES EXPECTED TO DO WHILE THEY ARE IN THE HOUSE?

Big Brother will provide the housemates weekly tasks which, depending on how much of their budget they gamble on successfully completing the task, will determine how much they will have in their food budget on a weekly basis. Big Brother may also set discussion topics or mini tasks throughout the week. Big Brother expects housemates to maintain the garden and care for the chickens that will also provide them with eggs. Big Brother will not tolerate cruelty towards the chickens.

WHAT SORT OF TASKS WILL BIG BROTHER GIVE THE HOUSEMATES?

Big Brother can not provide any details prior to the tasks being handed out every Saturday. The tasks will be designed to challenge the housemates mentally, physically and creatively. The tasks will be performed every Wednesday and if the housemates succeed, their weekly food budget will rise by the percent they gambled.

HOW WILL THE HOUSEMATES ACTIONS BE RECORDED BY BIG BROTHER?

The housemates will be recorded at all times by Big Brothers cameras.

HOW MANY CAMERA'S WILL BE FILMING THE HOUSEMATES?

Big Brother had initial plans for 20 camera's to film the housemates as shown below, however, in the last few days, Big Brother has added more. The housemates are also required to wear their microphones at all times apart from when they are in contact with water. This will ensure that Big Brother truly does see and hear everything.

ARE THE HOUSEMATES DENIED ALL CONTACT WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD?

The housemates where all made aware of the requirements before they were selected to enter the house. Big Brother will be the only contact that the housemates have with the outside world and any attempts to make contact with the outside world can lead to instant eviction from the house. Medical assistance will be made available at all times in the Diary Room.

CAN BIG BROTHER FORCEBLY EVICT A HOUSEMATE FOR ANY OTHER REASON?

Big Brother can evict housemates if the break the rules that they were made aware of before they entered the Big Brother house. Big Brother will usually give a warning but if housemates continually ignore Big Brothers rules they will be evicted.

OTHER THAN BREAKING BIG BROTHERS RULES, HOW ELSE CAN HOUSEMATES BE EVICTED?

Housemates will be asked to nominate two housemates that they want to evict each week starting in the second week of living inside the house. Housemates will have to provide Big Brother with an exceptable reasons to why they want to evict the housemates they have nominated. If housemates refuse to nominate Big Brother will choose the housemate that they are closest to in the house and nominate them. Housemates are not permitted to talk about nominations or nomination strategies. If Big Brother discovers that this has happened it will result in eviction from the house.

WHAT IS THE DIARY ROOM?

The Diary Room is soundproof and the only room in the Big Brother house where housemates can talk directly to Big Brother. Nominations are given in the Diary Room and housemates can discuss their feelings privately to Big Brother who will give an objective view.

DOES BIG BROTHER DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF THE VOTING?

No. Big Brother is not permitted to vote in any of the polls associated with Big Brother. The only way Big Brother can directly influence an eviction is if Big Brother evicts a housemate for breaking the rules. The voting is restricted to the public only.
